Visa regulation
The Embassy issues the following visa categories:
1. Tourist (T2)
This visa is issued to a person who is not a national of a country with which Rwanda has a visa waiver regime, to visit for a holiday, sightseeing, social or recreational purpose or other short term non work purpose.
It is valid for a period of ninety (90) days, renewable once. The holder may be allowed multiple entries but not permitted to work
Fee: 40+5€ postage (single entry); 45+5€ postage (multiple entry)
2. Family (T3)
This visa is issued to a person who wishes to visit a family member or a close relative residing in Rwanda.
This visa is valid for a period of ninety (90) days, renewable twice. It is a multiple entry visa but the holder shall not be allowed to work.
Fee: 40+5€ postage (single entry); 45+5€ postage (multiple entry)
3. Official Diplomat (T4)
This visa is issued to a diplomat visiting for official purposes.
This visa is valid for a period not exceeding two (2) years. It is a multiple entry visa

4. Job search (T5)
This visa is issued to a skilled worker, whose occupation is on the Occupations Demand List seeking employment. It shall be valid for a period of ninety (90) days, renewable once. It is a multiple entry visa but the holder shall not be allowed to work.
This visa becomes invalid when the holder secures employment.
Fee: 40+5€ postage (single entry)
5. Conference (T6)
This visa is issued to a person intending to participate in a meeting or conference.
This visa is valid for a period not exceeding thirty (30) days. This visa may be of single or multiple entries but the holder shall not be permitted to work.
Fee: 25+5€ postage (single entry); 45+5€ postage (multiple entry)
6. Business (T7)
This visa is issued to a prospective investor, entrepreneur or trader to visit and explore business opportunities in Rwanda.
It is valid for a period of ninety (90) days, renewable once. The holder of this visa shall be allowed multiple entries but shall not be permitted to work.
Fee: 40+5€ postage (single entry); 45+5€ postage (multiple entry)
7. Group Tourist
This visa is issued to a person who is traveling as a member of a group of four (4) to ten (10) tourists.
It is valid for a period of ninety (90) days and renewable.
Tour companies may apply for the visa on behalf of the tourists who are traveling in a group
The holder of this visa may be allowed multiple entries but shall not be allowed to work and change his/her status to acquire a residence permit.
Fee: 75+5€ postage
The file of the visa application is made up of:
1. a letter requesting a visa addressed to the Embassy
2. a form for the visa application filled in twice: Visa application Form [ PDF 125Kb ]
3. a valid passport
4.two passport photos

- We ask you to indicate the contact details of your contact persons in Rwanda. This can be in form of an invitation letter, a hotel booking or by highlighting the contact details in the application form.
- Cheques and cash money cannot be accepted.
- Please transfer the fees for the Visa to the bank account. The fees are non-refundable!
- Please notice that the processing time will depend on the completeness of the information provided. Therefore, we advise you to hand in the application in time in order to prevent a delay of your trip.
- We ask you to note your address and telephone number clearly so that we can contact you if necessary.

Vaccination:
- Vaccination against yellow fever is mandatory!
